Jobs in the Carpentry Industry

When you finish your apprenticeship program, you’ll have the knowledge and skill set required to build a successful career in the trade of your choice. Any number of jobs exist in the industry, but some of the most common roles our graduates take on include:

Foreman

A foreman is responsible for supervising other carpenters and coordinating several aspects of carpentry jobs. Some of these tasks include creating a daily safety plan, meeting with the general contractor, and finding innovative ways to motivate and lead their crew. This position also plays a critical role in overall job site production and safety.

Superintendent

A crucial management role in the industry, a superintendent is responsible for supervising every aspect of a building project, including working with building owners, handling proposals, managing contracts, and ensuring the project remains within the set parameters of both budget and law.

Training Instructor

After a carpenter has gained years of valuable industry knowledge, they may choose to pursue a new career as a training instructor. Training instructors are responsible for bringing their knowledge into the classroom and teaching students the theory behind construction, and how to apply theory to real-life practices.
